Representatives from the Taiwan International Windpower Training Corporation (TIWTC), accompanied by officials from NYK, visited the Maritime and Skills Training (MAST) facility of PHILCAMSAT last May 29. As fellow Global Wind Organisation (GWO)-certified training providers, the visit focused on sharing experiences, exploring collaboration, and gaining firsthand insights into the evolving GWO training landscape in the Philippines.
PHILCAMSAT views the current GWO training market in the Philippines as being in its early but promising stage. With the increasing momentum for offshore wind development globally, there is growing recognition of the need for internationally certified safety and technical training.
Looking ahead, PHILCAMSAT envisions the Philippines as a strategic training hub for the offshore wind industry in Southeast Asia. As projects begin to take shape and the need for a qualified workforce grows, PHILCAMSAT remains committed to expanding its course offerings and forging regional partnerships to help develop a strong, safety-focused talent pool for the renewable energy sector.
The visit by TIWTC and NYK reflects a shared commitment to excellence in training and a recognition of the role that collaboration plays in advancing wind power capabilities across Asia.
