Milestone for ETO Program

PHILCAMSAT proudly celebrates another significant milestone after successfully passing the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) accreditation audit for its Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) Course, conducted on June 15–16 and June 29–30, 2026.

ETO Course Overview

The MARINA-approved ETO Course is a comprehensive 12-month program. It is designed to prepare future Electro-Technical Officers for service on modern merchant vessels.

The program includes four months of intensive classroom instruction, laboratory activities, simulator-based training, and competency assessments. Consequently, it provides at least eight months of onboard training as an Electro-Cadet with PTC and Jebsen PTC.

The program’s admission is highly competitive. Additionally, all aspiring Electro-Cadets will undergo PHILCAMSAT’s stringent screening.

Selection is based on established qualification criteria to ensure that only competent and deserving candidates are admitted.

Only trainees who successfully complete the workshop skills training and the required approved seagoing service, as evidenced by the satisfactory completion of the Onboard Training Record Book (OTRB) and final assessment, will be awarded the Certificate of Completion for the Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) Course.

This is evidenced by the satisfactory completion of the Onboard Training Record Book (OTRB) and the final assessment.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will have the opportunity to be deployed as Electro-Technical Officers through the principals of PTC and Jebsen PTC, subject to the respective principal’s employment requirements and deployment procedures.
