This 3-day course is intended for personnel who will be assigned to take part or take charge of cargo holds cleaning with the use of chemicals. Theories on the safe handling of chemicals are delivered through classroom instructions. Simulated exercises are given to observe and measure the level of the trainees’ awareness and proper assessment of the situation. This ensures a much deeper understanding of the critical operation and promotes a safer environment on board the ship especially during handling of chemicals, not only for clean-up operations, but in any situation that calls for it.
