PHILCAMSAT proudly announces the renewal of its TESDA accreditation as an Assessment Center for Ship’s Catering Services NC I (Messman/Steward) and Ship’s Catering Services NC III (Ships’ Cook), reaffirming its commitment to developing competent and globally competitive maritime catering professionals.
The Ship’s Catering Services NC I (Messman/Steward) assessment evaluates candidates’ competencies in mess hall and galley services, food safety, sanitation practices, and the proper handling of shipboard provisions. This national certification is an essential qualification for individuals seeking employment as Messmen or Stewards on board vessels.
Meanwhile, the Ship’s Catering Services NC III (Ships’ Cook) assessment measures candidates’ ability to plan menus, prepare nutritionally balanced meals, and effectively manage galley operations in accordance with the requirements of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), 2006.
Through these renewed TESDA assessment center accreditations, PHILCAMSAT continues to support the maritime industry by ensuring that shipboard catering personnel possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to uphold safety, efficiency, and high standards of service at sea.
