PHILCAMSAT successfully launched the first module of its High Impact Recruitment Experiences (HIRE!) Program, marking the start of a three-module capability-building initiative developed in partnership with the PTC Shipping Cluster HR. Delivered across three batches, the pilot implementation of Module 1 equipped recruiters with practical frameworks to expand their influence and drive talent acquisition outcomes.
Blended Learning for Real-World Workplace Impact
Designed using a blended learning model, the HIRE! Program combines facilitated workshops with structured on-the-job application. Between modules, participants directly test new techniques in their daily recruitment workflows:
- Real-Time Application: Recruiters apply concepts during active candidate engagements.
- Structured Reflection: Guided reviews reinforce learning before advancing to subsequent modules.
- Continuous Improvement: Conversational techniques are refined using live hiring data and feedback.
Key Core Competencies in Module 1: Building Recruiter Influence
Module 1 focused on building foundational consultative skills through guided coaching, interactive simulations, and peer reflection. The curriculum centered on three primary pillars:
- Sales Mindset for Recruiters: Shifting talent acquisition from transactional processing to strategic, value-driven engagement.
- Employer Value Proposition (EVP) Communication: Effectively articulating organizational strengths to attract top-tier maritime talent.
- Consultative Questioning: Utilizing structured inquiry to uncover candidate motivations and align career goals with operational needs.
Industry leaders Capt. Ronald SJ Enrile, PTC Senior Adviser, and Capt. Pol Winston G. Haboc, PHILCAMSAT Vice President, provided expert perspective on candidate profiling, decision-making dynamics, and employer brand strategy.
Future Modules and Organizational Capability Building
Succeeding modules will expand into objection handling, value-based negotiation, and comprehensive recruitment simulations. The program will culminate in selecting Recruitment Capability Catalysts—internal champions tasked with scaling best practices across the PTC Shipping Cluster.
By upgrading consultative engagement and value communication, PHILCAMSAT supports the PTC Shipping Cluster in improving candidate experiences and securing qualified talent in a competitive maritime market.
